This article is about Nutri-Align Fasting Salts Powder Dosage Calculator

Supplement requirements are different for each person

We are all different. Our supplement requirements vary a great deal. Multiple factors are involved including age, body composition, diet, exercise, genetics and local climate. For fasting, the type of fasting and its duration makes a big difference too.

People on the higher end of the requirements scale may need 3x-4x more fasting electrolytes than those on the lower end.

For example, compare an amateur athlete training for a triathlon in hot weather vs someone working a office desk job with very little exercise. Their supplementation needs are dramatically different, whether they are fasting or not.

So there is no such thing as “one size fits all” dosage for supplements!

Finding the optimal dosage of Fasting Salts

Based on our customer feedback, establishing the correct dosage level can be a bit tricky. If you don’t get it right, you might get some unpleasant symptoms of either deficiency or overdose.

Fasting Salts pouch includes some basic guidelines on dosages. But there is a lot more to it than what we could possibly hope to include on the packaging!

The quiz helps you determine whether your electrolyte requirements are High, Low or Medium. It provides dosages for each day of the fast based on this outcome.

PLEASE NOTE – you may still need to tweak the recommended dosages further to make them 100% optimal for you.

How does the quiz work?

The quiz includes questions on the following aspects:

Type of fast – EF requires more supplementation than IF

Fast duration (EF only) – short-term EF (24-72 hours) need less supplementation than longer-term EF (3 days +)

Height / Weight – those with a larger overall body mass will need more electrolytes

Carbs consumption – people on standard diets typically have more electrolytes stored in their body than those on low-carb/Keto

Electrolyte supplements – if you take electrolyte supplements while not fasting, you will have more of them stored in your body

Climate – hot weather induces sweating which accelerates electrolyte depletion

Sweating – any other regular sweat-inducing activity will also increase your electrolyte requirements

Results are still guideline only

Please note these recommendations are still guideline only.

The quiz generates a more accurate estimate than a generic “one size fits all” dosage recommendation.

However, there are still other factors at play that affect your electrolyte levels which cannot be covered by a quiz, for example:

  • Genetics
  • Dietary intake of electrolytes while not fasting
  • Electrolyte levels of your drinking water
  • Other supplements or medications you take

Use your quiz result as the starting point and tweak it up or down depending on how you feel.

Tailoring the dosage further based on how you feel

INCREASE the dosage if:
You feel any symptoms of electrolyte deficiency such as fatigue, dizziness, headaches, muscle cramps and heart palpitations.

DECREASE the dosage if:
You feel any symptoms of electrolyte overdose such as bloating, swollen fingers or ankles, nausea and diarrhea.

SPREAD OUT the dosage if:
You experience digestive upset such as stomach pain, nausea and diarrhea. Split 1 scoop into 2x servings of 0.5 scoop or use more water (750ml instead of 500ml). If your digestive upset symptoms persist, stop taking the product and let us know.
